Defending the Waxhaw General Store because of the 1 star review by DPNDMUD. I was in the store that day with my elderly mother and I saw what unfolded. The owner, who has always been nothing but kind to us, was cleaning up a spill to prevent possibly a slip or fall and was treated bad by DPNDMUD. A little patience would’ve gone a long way. I’m so sorry we didn’t help you clean up. The Waxhaw General Store is our favorite spot to visit in downtown Waxhaw!

Beautiful store with many foods and products to decide on. My daughter enjoyed picking up some candy while I found creative pasta perfect for the upcoming holiday. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Stopped by this past Sunday and was pleasantly surprised. They have a unique array of gifts, candy by the pound (a lot of oldies I haven't seen in years), games etc. The staff was fun and helpful. What a treasure in the village of Waxhaw.

Sorry but I just saw this. I too was in the store at the time of this spilling incident. I was absolutely taken back by the behavior portrayed by this particular customer and now just absolutely appalled at their fictitious review. Accidents happen but they should be followed with an apologies not demands. That said I came here for a review not criticisms. I don’t know if its the warm and friendly atmosphere, nostalgic treats and toys or the handcrafted gifts and housewares… but I’ve never left the General Store frowned or empty handed. There’s always a smile on my face and usually Necco Wafers and Ginger beer in hand. Peace and God Bless, - JR

This store is truly a gem! It offers a fantastic range of ingredients both fancy pasta dishes and delightful sweet treats. From fresh strawberries and cheeses to a variety of ice creams and old-timey candy. The playful touch with board games and nostalgic candies really adds to the whole experience. I highly recommend it!

My favorite store in downtown! I live a block away and it’s where I get all of my meat - all locally sourced from farms in the area. The ladies that work there have become like family. We never leave without a smile. So grateful we have this store here in Waxhaw - I highly recommend coming in to support a fabulous local business!

This is my favorite store in downtown Waxhaw. I always love coming here & buying gifts for people. Their selection brings me joy & is so fun to look at. Great place to buy gifts & little, fun things. Always look forward to coming here. (Pictured is a tote bag I bought here on my bday, & had a friend sew a lining on the inside of it. I love it.)
